Reel Thanxs to Host Fishing Tournament
MISSION STATEMENT
“To honor our soldiers for their patriotism, bravery and love of country by getting them back to nature for nurture. Taking them fishing so they can focus on what they can do, not what they no longer can. Finally, to inspire bass clubs around the country to seek out these heroes in local hospitals and take them fishing.”

Reel Thanx is gearing up for its Second Annual Reel Thanx Fishing Tournament slated Oct. 16^th. Four times each year the nonprofit organization flies in military personnel who have been wounded in combat and treats them to a weekend at Lake Amistad near Del Rio.
Registration for the fishing tournament is $150 per team, and there is space for 100 two-person teams to compete, said Nicole Osburn, PBPA office manager and a Reel Thanx board member. Some 95 percent of the organization’s funding comes from members of the oil and gas industry, Osburn said.
